Partnerships - SWFLTech, Inc.

Better Together

Southwest Florida’s technology ecosystem is bigger than any one organization. SWFL Tech partners with business, education, workforce, government and community organizations when a regional opportunity can be advanced more effectively together.

Our members invest in SWFL Tech and help inform and advance our mission. Partnerships go a step further: they activate the ecosystem by bringing organizations together around a defined shared objective, with each partner contributing expertise, resources, relationships, infrastructure or execution.  Many of our members are actively involved in these regional partnerships.

When We Partner

SWFL Tech looks for opportunities where collaboration can create greater regional impact than any organization could achieve independently.

Strong partnerships typically include:

  • A clearly defined regional need or opportunity
  • A shared objective and intended outcome
  • Distinct and complementary roles for each partner
  • Meaningful contributions of expertise, resources, relationships or capacity
  • An opportunity to strengthen Southwest Florida’s technology ecosystem

Take a look below at just a few of our partnerships in action.

Tech Pulse: Building a Shared Understanding of SWFL's Tech EconomY

Good regional decisions start with good data.

SWFL Tech partnered with the Regional Economic Research Institute at Florida Gulf Coast University, Career Source of SWFL, and the Lee County Economic Development Office to produce the SWFL Tech Pulse Report, providing an independent, data-driven assessment of Southwest Florida’s technology sector, workforce and talent pipeline.

The research gives employers, educators, workforce organizations, economic developers and community leaders a common set of facts from which to identify opportunities, understand challenges and make informed decisions about the region’s technology economy.

We later convened regional leaders to discuss the implications of the report to inform our road map for the future.

TechMatch: connecting technology talent to the swfl tech ecosystem

SWFL Tech annually collaborates with CareerSource Southwest Florida on TechMatch, bringing together technology employers, students, job seekers and professionals to strengthen connections between regional talent and opportunity.

The partnership combines CareerSource Southwest Florida’s workforce expertise and resources with SWFL Tech’s relationships across the regional technology community.

Representatives from our Tech Meetup community are on hand to ensure that every attendee finds a community to provide the continued support they need to grow in their profession.

Aspirations in Computing: Growing the next generation of technology talent

The Southwest Florida Aspirations in Computing Affiliate of NCWIT is a community partnership aligned to a National program designed to encourage, recognize and support high school students with an interest in computing and technology.

The affiliate brings together educators, employers, volunteers, higher education and community organizations to connect students with recognition, encouragement, mentors and opportunities.

SWFL Tech provides organizational infrastructure and serves as a connector between the volunteer-led affiliate and Southwest Florida’s broader technology ecosystem.

SWFL Tech also serves as an institutional partner to regional initiatives led by others. In these relationships, we bring the voice, needs and connections of Southwest Florida’s technology ecosystem to the table — helping inform strategy, strengthen industry alignment and build regional capacity.
